Annie lives a quiet life and likes to keep in the shadows. She is happy and content, but no one sees this side of Annie. Then one night, a young girl called Chloe disappears and Annie is the last person to see her. This is Annie’s opportunity to prove she is someone worth listening to. That is, until she becomes a suspect.
An interesting storyline and well paced. I enjoyed the flashbacks too Annie’s childhood which helped enhance the book.

Detective Chief Superintendent Frankie Sheehan is sent a murder mystery game on her birthday, but soon realises this is not a game but a real life murder mystery. Lydia Callin has been murdered and the clues are within The Murder Box sent to Sheehan. The team link crimes across the city that are now all related to this Murder Box. Sheehan and the team are battling the clock as time is quickly ticking away and need to solve the game to solve the case. It takes a personal twist at the end and Sheehan really is under pressure to win.
This is the first Frankie Sheehan book I’ve read and quite happily read without needing to have read the previous books. A well paced storyline with likeable characters. Looking forward to reading more.

Detective Superintendent Roy Grace is back! Eden Poternoster is reported missing by her husband, Niall after popping into a supermarket but fails to return. However, Grace soon suspects this story is a cover up for the fact Niall has murdered Eden and committed the perfect murder - no body, no crime. But nothing is as it seems as the plot then takes another twist.
There is another major storyline that Grace has to deal with, but that would be too much of a spoiler to mention here.
An emotional read, where the crime is not always the main focus. But true as ever, another epic read by Peter James.

Agent Nadine Finch is fresh from her FBI training and sent straight away to investigate a serial killer in Ocala National Forest, Florida. She brings with her her team - partner, Detective Clint Demko, Tina and Juliette. 2 women are found dead, and appears to be subject to animal attacks until forensics discover arrow heads buried in their limbs. These ladies were hunted by a killer first. Nadine and the team rush to catch the killer, then discover the killer is targeting women close to Nadine. The need to find the killer heightens before he goes for his ultimate catch - Nadine.
This was a quick paced read which keeps you wanting to carry on to the next chapter, comparable to Chris Carter. Although this book is second in the series, reading the first book is not necessary and all background information on the characters is reiterated. Looking forward to reading the next book. 5 stars.

DI Helen Grace returns to investigate a spate of brutal crimes - murder, arson, car jacking. Initially it just seems a crime wave has hit, but Helen and her team deduce deeper and finds there are links between the crimes and the victims. Can they figure out the missing link? All this is happening while DS Hudson instigates a revenge campaign against Helen, trying to force her out of the Force.
Unusually, quite a slow start to this instalment with all the initial sub plots, but soon comes together for a great read and suspenseful ending.

19 year old Tallulah is leaving her baby, Noah with her mum while she goes on a date night with boyfriend, Zach. However, neither Tallulah or Zach return home and are still classed as missing.
15 months later, Sophie with her partner, the newly appointed Headmaster, move into the cottage at his new school. She discovers a sign saying ‘dig here’ in the garden and discovers an item she then links with the missing teenagers. Sophie also happens to be a crime novelist.
The story is told from both time periods and switches between the two as the story builds up to what really happened on that fateful night at Dark Place.
Another amazing read from Lisa Jewel. 5 stars.

Felix Pink aka ‘John’ is a retired widower, and leads a very calm life. However, he does occupy his time with his role as an Exiteer. He sits with dying clients while they take their last breaths. However on his latest post, he and his new partner discover they have assisted the wrong person and is now on the run from the police.
A slow start, but builds up the charming personality of Felix. The pace soon escalates into a dark, gripping thriller. Another excellent read from Belinda Bauer.

Windsor Horne Lockwood III aka Win is a billionaire and a man on a mission. He is contacted by old FBI boss, PT to advise the body of a recluse has been found dead in his penthouse apartment. Hanging on the wall is one of 2 missing priceless paintings stolen from The Lockwood family. As Win starts his own investigation into this, links start to develop to a terrorist event and the kidnap of his cousin and murder of his uncle over 20 prior. Win is detained to understand what happened all those years ago and serve justice.
Another brilliant read by Coben, told from Win’s standpoint, the plot is fast paced and holds your interest right to the end. A clever thriller with intertwining storylines.

A quick paced book with enjoyable characters. A new author for me, but looking forward to more by Jonette Blake.
