My Recommendation

 

Jess needs a fresh start and decides to spend time with her brother Ben is his new Paris apartment.  However when she arrives, he is not there to let her in.  After she finds a way in, she sees Ben has not taken anything with him to appear he has gone away, so where is he??  The tenants of the apartment block are not that welcoming to Jess and her questions. 
Another gem by Lucy Foley with details and twists that keep you guessing right until the end.  The detail of the apartment paints a real haunting image in your mind.  Loved it!

My Recommendation

 

Jayne is walking back from school when she goes missing.  46 years later a body is discovered while renovating an old farm house.  At the same time a girl at nearby boarding school dies for a suspicious fall.  DI Annie Delamere leads both enquiries and soon the body count starts to rise, there is more to these cases than first thought.
A good plot with a twist that was quite predictable.  An easy read and would happily recommend to any crime fiction fan.

My Recommendation

 

On New Years Eve, 1999, there is a massacre at the local Blockbusters shop.  3 dead and 1 survivor, Ella.  15 years later, Ella, now a counsellor receives a call to talk to another survivor of a similar attack at the Diary Creamery.  Jessica tells Ella the words the attacker said, the same as those said to Ella that fateful night.  But Ella has never told a soul these words.  Is it the  same attacker?  This is now FBI Special Agent Keller’s task to solve.
An excellent book and I hope Keller makes it to a series.  Descriptive characters that you felt like you knew.  A spell binding plot, with plenty of twists that keep you wanting to read the next chapter.

My Recommendation

 

10 years ago, Johan Colley’s son went missing while in the park and his life fell apart.  In present time, he receives a call from an estranged friend to go to an industrial estate as needs his urgent help.  Jonah discovers 4 dead bodies and is attacked himself.  For a second time, life spirals out of control, he is framed for some serious crimes and then his ex-wife’s children are taken.  Jonah does all he can to get them back, no matter the consequences.
A good introduction to what I can see will be a new series.  Jonah is a true Good Cop but has plenty of life’s baggage to deal with at the same time. Looking forward to reading more instalments with Jonah!

Chloe Davis was 12 when her dad was arrested for killing 6 girls that went missing that summer.  20 years later, history seems to be repeating itself.  More girls are going missing and this time bodies are found with the same souvenirs are taken.  Chloe list of suspects grow and is not sure who she can now trust.
A truly inspiring read, with plenty of twists to keep those pages turning.  I loved the plot and characters were well developed.  Looking forward to reading more by Stacy Willingham.

Allison Barton receives a call from her old university roommate, Jane Knudsen after she discovers her boss murdered at the office.  As prime suspect, Allison helps defend Jane.  Jane is a beautiful workaholic and plays down her looks, she is very secretive and no one knows any personal details about her.  There is a reason for Jane’s secretiveness and would rather go to prison than reveal the past.
An enjoyable read but seemed to focus rather unrealistically on Jane’s beauty.  I understand the reason for this but did seem to be over the top.

My Recommendation

 

Detective Amanda Steel returns as a body of a environmental student is found dead in the National Park, naked with just a black orchid left behind.  Amanda and Trent start investigating the housemates and fellow students, then discover another student died in a similar situation 20 years ago.  Is there a serial killer or copycat?  Amanda and Trent need to find the killer before they strike again.  Meanwhile, Amanda is facing a huge personal situation.
Another great book, with well developed characters and a plausible plot.  I really enjoyed this book, like all other Carolyn Arnold books.  Can’t wait for the next instalment.  5 stars!
