Beth and Tom Hardcastle live the perfect life, in an idyllic setting. However when the police knock on the door, Beth is relived it is not that Tom injured or worse, but to talk to Tom in connection of a missing, presumed dead ex-girlfriend. Beths world is turned upside down. Then she meets Adam and life is looking good again. But Beth is concerned everyone thinks she should have known about her husbands past.
A great storyline, told from different perspectives. With an nail biting twist. Loved it!!

Kate Marshall finds a body of a teenager while for diving in Shadow Sands reservoir. She is later contacted by his mother asking for her assistance as the police have ruled it an accident all too quickly. Kate and colleague, Tristan starts asking questions and is soon warned off by a local with a shotgun. Tristans new acquaintance, Magdalena suddenly goes missing at the same time a lot of historical suspicious deaths in the reservoir are unearthed. Kate and Tristan need to work out what’s going on with the reservoir deaths and find Magdalena before it’s too late. The police do not seem to be doing their best to help on either case.
A new author to me, but look forward to reading more. Enjoyed the pace and narrative of this book.

Ava Brent begins to investigate the historical mystery surrounding the Overtoun Estate. There is something about the house and bridge that keeps pulling her back. When Ava notices “help me” scratched on one off the windowsills, she can’t let go despite the warnings.
There is also Marion’s and Constance’s story from their time at Overtoun Estste. There is an every connection and just hope history doesn’t repeat itself.
I really enjoyed the 3 person perspective and the twist. Certainly a page turner.

Chloe Swanson has always longed to find out who her biological dad is, knowing her mother went to a fertility clinic. Miles Cookson, millionaire computer app designer has just found out he has Huntington’s Disease and wants to contact any children he may have knowing that 20+ years ago he donated to a fertility clinic, and wants to financially support any children knowing this disease is genetic. Miles and Chloe connect. While trying to find the other potential heirs, they discover that some of them have disappeared, all traces of their life cleaned up and removed. Who is behind this all?
I enjoyed the storyline, and hooks you in from the beginning, bringing together lots of characters and plots. There are several people with motive to dispense with the potential heirs.

To summarise is one word: wow! Loved this book. Liz Catalano has a DNA test as a gift and the results reveal a family secret - that she is adopted. While searching for her birth family, Liz is contacted by FBI as her DNA links her to the Tri State Killer, a serial killer active for last 40 years. Liz is determined to get to know her new family and discover who could possibly be the Tri State Killer.
I enjoyed how the story was told by Liz, interjected with the victims experience. A great whodunnit. 5 stars.

Don't Let Him In

Rebecca is travelling when she receives a call from her mother to let her know, her father, back in UK has passed away. Rebecca returns to her home town, Eriston, and lays her father to rest. The local police advise her fathers death may be suspicious and the journalist instinct in Rebecca is to investigate. Her father had been investigating 2 local murders 20 years earlier and suspect this research may have lead to him unearthing some information someone wants kept hidden - at any length.
A good paced book with development of the characters that keep you turning those pages. I liked Rebeccas character and determinism. I always enjoy Howard Linskey books and look forward to the next release!
