Last updated on 08 Sep 20216 year old Zoe Parker is woken with a start by her parents in the middle of the night, they tell her to play hide and seek as they know a killer has broken in and attacks them both. When Detective Amanda Steele investigates they cannot find Zoe. She is finally discovered hiding in a chest and won’t talk. Steele is put in charge of guarding and looking after Zoe as the killer returns and attacks a close friend and the pair build up a bond.
Following on from previous Steele books, there is an underlying storyline of Steeles husband and daughter who we killed and her mother facing a murder trial, I enjoyed the continuing storyline and development of the characters. A gripping crime thriller and highly recommended.
