My Recommendation
Sisters Tennant and Sophie live in an isolated community in the mountains, while outside checking rabbit traps, when their fathers pushed them into a trapdoor. When they resurface, the whole community has disappeared. FBI and other specialists are brought in to figure out what the incident that occurred was. More sci-fi horror than crime that I would normally read. I did struggle with the plot and length of the book but an interesting plot.
